The focus of the Climate Change Strategies for Mitigation and Resiliency Planning Conference will be climate action planning that addresses mitigation of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and adaption to climate change impacts to increase the resiliency of communities.  It will emphasize the planning processes needed to reach sustainable GHG levels by focusing on achieving California’s reduction targets, in concert with national and global strategies. 

The conference will focus on emerging policies, planning processes and strategies for addressing climate change impacts, including mitigation and adaptation strategies. Other topics include studies on GHGs global initiatives, technologies and strategies for mitigation and adaptation. The event will highlight case studies from the U.S. Western States’ plans and strategies to reduce and/or adapt to the impacts of climate change, including successful implementation strategies. The conference will also examine a range of related topics to review recent climate change data, and advances in state policies that complement the global accord on climate change at the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) 2015 Paris Conference.
