Masco Corporation is an American manufacturer of products for the home improvement and new home construction markets. The Masco conglomerate, which comprises more than 20 companies, operates nearly 60 manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and over 20 in other parts of the world.
On-Site Energy Audits
KERAMIDA was engaged with MASCO to conduct several on-site energy audits for its North American-based facilities. Focus was placed on owned facilities; however, certain leased facilities were included in the scope of work. Pre-site audit activities were conducted, such as historical energy evaluations, data analytics, and SME interviews. On-site audit activities focused on manufacturing processes and equipment. Building envelope, lighting, and HVAC operations were also evaluated for energy efficiency opportunities.
Energy Reduction Strategies
In total, almost 10 facilities, varying in manufacturing process, were audited. This culminated in an audit matrix identifying key energy reduction strategies and their respective estimated reductions in energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions. A range of costs was also provided for each strategy identified. The purpose of this audit was to support MASCO’s sustainability goals for emissions and energy reductions.
