Waste Management Projects

Subaru of America, National Parks Conservation Association, and National Park Foundation teamed up to cut the amount of landfill waste produced by national parks as part of the “Don’t Feed the Landfills Initiative.” Subaru engaged KERAMIDA's sustainability experts to conduct Waste Characterization Studies at Denali National Park, Grand Teton National Park, and Yosemite National Park.

KERAMIDA provided permitting and compliance support for a new Greenfield Lithium Battery Electrolyte manufacturing facility in Indiana. The Client is an international corporation headquartered in South Korea. It was anticipated that the facility would be permitted as a Federally Enforceable State Operating Permit (FESOP) from the perspective of air emissions.

KERAMIDA provides an onsite staff person at the NISSAN North America, Inc. - Decherd, Tennessee manufacturing plant to manage all aspects of hazardous waste, special waste and solid waste disposal for the facility.

Hoosier Energy hired KERAMIDA to provide environmental due diligence services and environmental oversight services for the decommissioning and demolition of the Frank E. Ratts Generating Station, which functioned as a coal-fired power plant in Petersburg, Indiana.

KERAMIDA was contracted by East Kentucky Power Cooperative (EKPC) to provide oversight services for the decommissioning of Dale Station, which functioned as a coal-fired power plant in Winchester, KY.

KERAMIDA completed the management of a $3M+ decommissioning and environmental remediation project of a former Simon Property Group mall in Little Rock, Arkansas. The environmental issues included PCBs, Lead, Hazardous Chemicals, Asbestos, Petroleum, and Chlorinated Solvents.

The site was developed in 1902-1903 as the Champion Iron Company, a former foundry and structural iron works facility. KERAMIDA completed the Phase I, Phase II investigation, and asbestos survey for the property and oversaw the site decommissioning and demolition.

KERAMIDA completed environmental assessment and remediation activities for this brownfield site that was an abandoned former gray iron foundry in downtown Richmond, Indiana.

KERAMIDA provided permitting and compliance support for a new NMP Solvent Recycling facility in Indiana.  Services included Air Construction Permitting and Air Operation Permitting; Phase I Due Diligence Environmental Site Assessment; Process Safety Management Applicability Review; EHS Regulatory Register; Air Operation and Maintenance Planning; Air Preventative Maintenance Planning; Stormwater Discharge Permitting; Wastewater Discharge Permitting; Solid Waste Characterization; Environmental Reporting and Health and Safety Program Development.
