Net Zero Plan for FCC North America
Project Details:
FCC North America is a clutch assembly manufacturer that maintains integrated product and manufacturing systems including everything from friction material development to assembly.
KERAMIDA was tasked with calculating the Scope 1 and 2 GHG inventory for all of FCC North America’s operations and then using that information to develop a GHG Net Zero Plan for each location. FCC is a global automotive company with locations across the world and this was a request that was promulgated through global headquarters initiatives as well as supplier demands.
KERAMIDA interviewed various subject matter experts (SMEs) from each facility to understand the operations and data availability. Based on these interviews, a data request was submitted to obtain the necessary information to develop a Scope 1 and 2 GHG baseline. Once the baseline was determined, KERAMIDA evaluated a variety of GHG reduction initiatives focusing on the use of renewable energy, alternative fuels, and on-site carbon offsets.
KERAMIDA developed a strategic plan showing GHG emissions reduction projections from the suite of strategies proposed. Once discussed and approved by local SMEs, including manufacturing executives at the facility level, the GHG reduction roadmaps were submitted to FCC headquarters for incorporation into their global GHG Net Zero Plan.
