Client Alert: California DTSC Updates eVQ Filing Deadline to March 31
/The California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) has changed the annual filing deadline for the electronic Verification Questionnaire (eVQ) from October 1 to March 31, effective this year.
The eVQ System is now open for the 2025 reporting cycle, and businesses with hazardous waste ID numbers must complete the questionnaire to maintain active status. This applies to all entities that generated, transported, treated, stored, or disposed of hazardous waste in 2024.
Even if you previously submitted an eVQ by the October 1 deadline, you are still required to file an updated eVQ under the new March 31 deadline.
This update comes in addition to the earlier 2024 changes, which expanded the eVQ from 5 to 9 steps, incorporating new sections for Collection Activities, Exemptions, and Waste Verification.
New Deadline: March 31, 2025
File your eVQ: https://evq.dtsc.ca.gov
